Coronavirus
The 23rd March 2020 will be remembered as the day freemasonry and the world stopped. This virus from China would decimate the worlds population and fling everyday life into disarray. An increased appreciation for those on the front line from doctors to nurses, porters to care workers, shop workers, delivery drivers, funeral directors spread across the nation. Many people raising money for the NHS, care homes, foodbanks and those losing jobs in abundance. Never , since the Great War, has the country galvanised their resources and come together as one.
Freemasonry has played a massive part of these fundraising efforts and charitable donations across the globe. Each and everyone of us should be proud of our efforts to ensure those who are vulnerable within our communties are cared for and supported during these unprecidented times.
Below are the communications from the Grand Master Mason, as Grand Lodge steered us through those awful moments and kept our spirits high
